TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale, a Broward County based company, announces that its 96' offshore supply vessel, Richard L. Becker, will be show center for the third year in a row at the 2004 McDonald's Air and Sea Show May 1-2 at Ft. Lauderdale. "This ship is critical for every aerobatics performance as pilots get their visual bearings for timing and position from the ship's Show Center location," states Pro Series, Inc., promotions directors for the Show.

The Richard L. Becker, is a 96' steel-hulled vessel built by Graham Marine. It is powered by twin 12 cylinder engines and is equipped with twin 50 KW generators, a crane, a diesel fire pump, full electronics and satellite communications. The vessel has sleeping accommodations for over 13 crew and a fully equipped galley making it capable of extended periods of time at sea.

The Richard L. Becker is docked on the ICW in Dania Beach. The vessel was named after a long time friend of Capt. Acheson who died unexpectedly of a heart attack several years ago. "Richard L. Becker was a marine surveyor who lived and worked in the Ft. Lauderdale area for many years," states Capt. Acheson. "He loved living and working in the marine industry. I think he would be honored to have a vessel carrying his name acting as show center for such a prestigious marine event."
